COUNTER)INDUCTION (Tonight)

This vibrant young ensemble has assembled a program that explores the interaction between formal and vernacular music ― works that are cast in classical forms but that draw their materials from elements of folk, pop and jazz. Included are works by Roberto Sierra, Bela Bartok, Karel Husa and Counter)induction's resident composers, Kyle Bartlett and Douglas Boyce.

At 8, Tenri Cultural Center, 43A West 13th Street, Greenwich Village, (646) 245-5926, counterinduction.com; $15 suggested donation. (Allan Kozinn)
